In 2004, individuals from 65 area United Methodist Churches invited runners, walkers, and friends from the community to help alleviate suffering of neighbors impacted by hunger, homelessness, and a lack of adequate healthcare. Over 700 people joined in the first ever Race of Grace 5K Run/Walk, making it one the largest 5 Ks around, and homemade cakes were given to all the winners!
The mission of the Race of Grace is to alleviate suffering of those impacted by hunger, homelessness, and lack of adequate healthcare through education, inspiration, many-a-donation, and perspiration! More than $298,000 has been donated to local agencies that serve those in need.
In 2006, area golfers gathered together and launched the first ever Links of Grace golf tournament.
In 2007, bike enthusiasts signed on with the Tour de Grace and thus a full-fledged weekend of The Weekend of Grace united athletes and amateurs, friends and strangers for three inspirational days
In 2012, all focus and energy will be on the 9th annual 5K Run/Walk.
You can make a difference too. You could even win a homemade cake!
