The Weekend of Grace unites athletes and amateurs, friends and strangers for three inspirational days of golfing, walking, running, and biking.
The mission is to alleviate suffering by partnering with organizations who help and empower neighbors in our community affected by hunger, homelessness, and a lack of adequate healthcare.
In 2004, individuals from 65 area United Methodist Churches invited anyone who wanted to make a difference in this effort to join them for the first ever Race of Grace 5K Run/Walk. More than 700 people participated, making it one of the largest 5 Ks around, and homemade cakes were given to all the winners.
In 2006, area golfers teamed up and added the first ever Links of Grace to the mix.
In 2007 bike enthusiasts signed on with the Tour de Grace and a full-fledged weekend of community fun for a common cause was born.
For 2012, we are focusing on the 5K Run/Walk. Please mark your calendars and share the word to join with our friends and neighbors on Sunday, April 29 at 4 PM.
To date, more than $298,000 has been donated to local agencies serving those in need.
You can make a difference too. You could even win a homemade cake!
