Women’s Center of Wake County

Women's Center of Wake County - Helping Women from Surviving to ThrivingOne of the three major program areas for the Women’s Center is Basic Needs. Within that program the Women’s Center provides breakfast each morning; lunch six to eight times a month; and emergency food.

Last year, WCWC distributed over 35,000 pounds of food to 832 adults and 539 children.

The Center serves between 30-60 women and children in each day who are homeless. They are often in need of a nourishing meal or food that can be readily consumed.

Funds provide the ability to make regular purchases of healthy foods like juices and fruit to supplement donated food and provide healthier options. With $3,000 the Women’s Center is able to provide a week of food and breakfast/lunch for over 450 women and children.
